J. Cal Ewing Scrapbook : scrapbook, 1894-1940.

A collection of newspaper articles and photographs relating to the career of Cal Ewing, one of the organizers and founder of the Pacific Coast League. The first few pages relate to the political side of Ewing in California, then goes on to baseball. A few photos of Landis and others with Ewing, a 1927 Oakland Baseball Club Champs Banquet photo.

J. Cal Ewing served as president of the Pacific Coast League from 1907-1909. Ewing also owned the Oakland Oaks and San Francisco Seals. Ewing is credited along with Seals owner Henry Harris, with helping to create the league in 1903. Ewing was also instrumental in keeping the league alive following the San Francisco earthquake of 1906, using his own fortune to keep the league afloat at this time.
